Dora party ideas and photos by: Maha
I did a princess Dora birthday party for my 5 year old who just couldn’t make up her mind about the theme! It took place in her pre-school. This way all the kids are there and the teachers helped me out. She wanted Dora one second and a princess party the next. I searched online and found Dora’s fairytale story where she is dressed in a princess dress, which was perfect!
I printed out a section of the fairytale and had a baker print that on a cake but instead of writing (once upon a time) he wrote (happy birthday Jana). It was so cute! The picture is attached.
As for the invitations for our Dora birthday party, I used photo shop and paint to create a foldable cardboard invitation with the same princess Dora on the front and the fairytale theme on the inside. I wrote a very cute invitation that stated that princess Dora would like to invite you to attend the royal birthday party of Princess Jana and that formal princess/prince/pirate attire is a must!
As for the girls favor bags, I got a plain brown bag and I printed the same princess Dora picture and stuck them on it. I put in some candy, little pink wallets, bead necklaces, sunnies, and princess stickers, Dora bracelets and little pink notebooks.
The boys’ bags had candy, little Spiderman figures, sunnies, Spiderman stickers, Spiderman tops and Spiderman stationary with matching pencils.
I decorated the room at the Dora party with Dora banners, Dora wall hangings and Dora stickers. I got Dora paper plates, cups, party hats, whistles and eye masks (as well as Spiderman for the boys). When the girls came in the room with their princess costumes I gave each of them a crown and magic wand! The boys got pirate hats and little plastic pistols!
As for the food and entertainment at the Dora party I called up McDonald’s and got 20 kids meals and a clown to come and entertain the kids. He danced and played with them for an hour or so.
Then it was time for the cake and everyone went home after that. The whole Dora party took 2 hours from start to finish but it was great! You would think it cost a fortune! But actually everything cost just $280 including the professional cake, the McDonalds meals, the clown entertainer, the favors, the decorations everything! I got the favors and bags from a dollar store. I decorated the plain brown bags with Princess Dora pictures I printed out and stuck on I printed the pirate hats from nickjr.com as well as the Dora bracelets.
The important thing is the kids had lots of fun and the party was a hit! The pics and videos prove it!
